For Women’s History Month, we decided to coordinate our Inquiry this month with this topic by inviting our members to explore and learn more about the women in their lineage.
We began the exploration by taking a few minutes to write out our own little family tree, identifying the women of our family life. Our mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers, aunts, cousins and so on. We encouraged adding the “steps” as well.
Several of us shared the stories and lessons of these women. These women who literally pathed the way for us and taught us everything we know about being a woman. We looked at how we can keep these stories alive. It is clear there is much for us to learn from these women still.
Each section below represents some of what we discovered when looking at our lineage but also how to keep the inquiry going!

Family History Survey
~ By Goddess Guides Ellen Snortland
Ellen invited us to use this survey to learn more about the women who make up our family history. By exploring what we know, and don't know, about the lives of our foremothers we learn more about ourselves too. Click to access a PDF or the file or click for a WORD version.

Meet my Great Grandma Duke. This is the woman that taught me how to wear and care for her first panty hose! She was the lunch lady for Crown Hill Elementary in Seattle, WA, this was her recipe. Recipes are one of he many ways we can keep the stories, wisdom and gifts of our foremothers alive.
I included on the recipe the healthy tweaks I have used to make this recipe work for my current diet. Please share some of your family recipes on the Goddess Living FaceBook Page!!

Inquiry Assignment
Create an autobiography in honor of your foremothers. Do this as elaborate, or simply, as you would like. The general outline to follow is ..
- A page for each person, couple or family unit
- What big things happened in their lifetime. Major events for them and/or the world.
- Include a picture if you have one.
- What lessons did you learn from them.

Read Fiction
Ellen suggested to get to know more about the lived experiences of your forebears read fictional books set in those times, or with characters of that heritage. This is both fun and illuminating!
Ellen shared she just read The Last Neanderthal by Claire Cameron after finding out from 23andMe that she had a higher than average amount of Neanderthal DNA ... turns out there is a scientific reason for Ellen's bad-assery!!
Please keep sharing our wonderful community with the women in your life you would like to see join us on our Goddess Talks, the Goddess Living Members Community and ultimately our Goddess Getaways and Vacations!
Have a GREAT week!!!
With Love,
