It was lovely to see so many of you at the Goddess Living Members Meeting this last Saturday. If you missed it, we learned about and discussed the 7th or Crown Chakra. This was the culmination of the last several months dedicated to the Chakra system of energetic, emotional and physical healing.
Located at the top of the head, the Crown Chakra deals with true knowing and our connection to spirit and the universe.

When in balance, you may feel spiritual connection, blessed, unity, wisdom, open minded, peaceful, in touch with nature and the universe and have a strong nervous system.
If not in balance, you may feel fear, apathy, broken, materialistic, and may experience mental disorders, memory and learning problems or be facing a spiritual crisis.
An interesting and new notion that emerged in the dialog was the idea of over stimulation of this Chakra center. When this is present we might see (or experience) overconfidence, narcissism, over control or manipulation of self or others.
Conversely under stimulation of this energy center may show up as giving power away, or looking outside self for power or validation. Feeling meek, "why me" or easily used.
Here are the recordings if you would like to experience the entire discussion or review it.
This Week's Practice
Build Connection
The following are techniques for bringing balance to the Crown Chakra. This is about connecting us with our inner truth and sense of self as well as nurturing our relationship to ourselves as part of the bigger reality that is Universal.
Ceremony - Find ways to bring ceremony and ritual into your daily life. By ritual we mean a ceremonial and intentional action. We recommend getting this great book, The Medicine Bag: Shamanic Rituals & Ceremonies for personal transformation by don Jose Ruiz, to learn about ceremonies and how to create them.
Aroma Therapy - Frankincense, Myrrh, Lavender or Citrus. Use these in a room scent diffuser, or bless yourself with one (or more of these scents). We recommend Wisdom of the Earth Essential Oils.
Meditation - Meditate every day! Even 9 minutes a day will make an ALL day impact. Meditation affects us well beyond the physical time we spend in meditation, it has been shown to calm the nervous system, lower anxiety and bring clarity throughout the day.
Trying listening to this Om Mantra while you sit or lay quietly. The recording is 25 minutes long, try at least 9 minutes.
