Sexual Health and Pleasure

Many of you may have read a recent NY Times article that is basically about the Clitoris. Well, this article struck us in many ways and the biggest was the fact that said Clitoris is not studied or considered much at all.

Women’s sexual health in general is usually focused on reproductive health and cancer prevention. The pleasure aspect, while talked about, is not that well known medically.

Medical procedures are often being done without concern for how it will effect a woman’s sexual pleasure, and are barely concerned with how the procedure will effect her medically overall. For example, what long term health effects will result from the removal of any parts of the female sexual and reproductive system?

This has become even more relevant as we have recently heard of young women electing to have full hysterectomies to prevent pregnancy … I wonder how many were told of the rocky road ahead to getting their hormones in check. Plus, it is likely not covered by most insurance.

We have a long way to go ladies.

A place to begin is learning about our own bodies and our own willingness to pursue and experience pleasure. Hot topic we know!!

To keep things light and playful, we thought we would offer a not so confronting way to open the subject for ourselves … a movie of course!!

This is one of the assignments for our current Goddess Staycation and we decided to recommend it to y'all too. Let us know what you think.
